I began my career as a graduate student at the University of Málaga (Spain). My research during my PhD was focused on the study of the molecular regulation of fruit ripening using strawberry as model. I am now a postdoctoral researcher in the Alonso-Stepanova lab studying the ethylene-signaling pathway. The plant hormone ethylene plays multiple roles in plant development (germination, stress responses, fruit ripening, organ expansion, senescence…). I´m interested in the role of RNA stability and transcriptional regulation of key ethylene genes.
