North Carolina State University - Department Of Genetics

I am the course instructor for GN 301: Genetics in Human Affairs. This course is designed to fulfill part of the general science requirements for non-science majors, but is also appropriate for students who are interested in Human Genetics and its impact on society. GN 301 is offered in both regular classroom format and as a distance education class. Students gain an understanding of the principles of genetics as they relate to human development, diversity, diseases and disorders. They are encouraged to seek out genetics issues in the news and to discuss numerous problems and issues whose solutions require an understanding of genetics. My goals are for my students to enjoy learning about genetics and to become aware of the enormous role that genetics plays in our lives and society.
