North Carolina State University - Department Of Genetics

The Department of Genetics consists of a highly interactive group of scientists with foci in quantitative, developmental and computational genetics. The department also administers outstanding undergraduate and graduate training programs in genetics, partly supported by an NIH training grant on ’The Genetic Architecture of Quantitative Traits’.

The course requirements in the Department of Genetics are designed to provide students with a strong background in this basic science. Each degree program requires the completion of a set of core courses and a minimum of advanced or elective courses. The advanced level and special-topics elective courses challenge students and expose them to cutting-edge research.
