What do wood roaches and woodpeckers have in common?

Research team identifies cockroach pheromone

A joint project between Coby Schal's lab and colleagues at SUNY-Syracuse and UC-Davis identified the pheromone of the wood cockroach, Parcoblatta lata.  This discovery has implications for both control of this sometimes urban pest as well as ecologically benefitting endangered woodpeckers.
