BIOTECHNOLOGY

Biotechnology is considered a support discipline and can be included in graduate programs in a variety of areas including physiology, nutrition, genetics/genomics and production management.

Animal Science students can choose to include Biotechnology courses as part of their plan of graduate work. Alternatively, students can choose a more formal route and specifically include a minor in Biotechnology in their graduate program. The Biotechnology minor requires at least 6 hours of graduate-level Biotechnology courses and a thesis research project in an area involving biotechnology.
