Poultry science student honored


Jessica Nixon
Jessica Nixon, a junior majoring in poultry science, won the Frank Perdue Student of the Year Award during the annual College Career Program held in conjunction with the International Poultry Expo Jan. 23-25 in Atlanta. The College Career Program is sponsored by the U.S. Poultry and Egg Association. In addition to Nixon’s award, the N.C. State University Poultry Science Club was runner up for the Club of the Year Award and placed second in the Club Scapbook competition. Presenting the Student of the Year Award was Don McIntyre, chairman of the College Student Career Program advisory committee and an N.C. State Poultry Science graduate. Nixon is from Edenton.
